Cabin Accommodation

This is a unique cabin accommodation with a tree house style home nestled high up on a property making up part of the Table Mountain Reserve, overlooking the world heritage site “Orange Kloof” effectively the back of the Table Mountain reserve

Despite its apparent remoteness, it lies just 7 min from Houtbay central district and 12 minutes from Constantia shopping centre. Home has immediate access to walking trails and Vlakenberg hiking trail. All bedrooms have stunning views onto mountain ranges.

The space

Cabin in the Woods is a cabin accommodation on the entire ground floor level of the 2 story home that is available for rent which is private, and with its own separate entrance if guest requires this and chooses not to use the lobby .

The home’s architecture is entirely wood and glass to compliment the forest setting in which the home is located. Two separate bedrooms with bathrooms (showers) en suite have commanding views overlooking Orange Kloof Reserve and is adjoined by comfortable lounge, kitchenette and office nook and small patio with table and chairs and use of the boma with gas braai facility which is exclusively for guests.

The home presents a warm and inviting ambiance with, Wi-Fi, Netflix and Showmax on offer with smart 65 ‘TV and is tastefully furnished.

Guest access

The home is reached via a short dirt road close to Constantia Nek and can be challenging to access in rainy weather. Owner can provide collection at a secure point where guest vehicle can be left overnight.

Other things to note

I am a sociable person and a passionate cook, and can provide breakfast and dinner if required (for an additional fee, available on request) and provided 24 hour notice is given. Sven also provides for a wide selection of boutique wines and operates a honesty bar.

Unfortunately pets cannot be accommodated as the environment surrounding the property which as part of the adjacent mountain reserve, has no fences.

Also important to mention the lodge is not geared for self catering (in other words cooking hot meals from scratch) and whilst there is a kitchenette its equipment is limited to microwave, kettle, toaster and espresso machine. Crockery, glassware and cutlery is provided along with braai facilities in the lodges boma, which is for the exclusive use of guests
